Fabrica continues with the presentation of Mirka program for sanding and polishing, as well as practical training for its long-standing customers, at the project FABBRICA DAYS. This time we had the pleasure to welcome our dear associates who wanted to find out more information on the complete Mirka program, but also about the process of pre-polishing and polishing.

For this occasion, we have prepared a special program of presentation, during which we presented new products from a wide assortment of materials and tools for sanding and polishing, with special emphasis on the importance of proper implementation of the complete process of pre-polishing and polishing.

Since the quality of the treated surface coatings in high gloss depends from proper selection and application of varnishes, as well as the procedure of their processing ( sanding the substrate, interfacial sanding etc.), we have provided to our dear guests detailed explanation how the sanding technique and adequate abrasive grit selection of abrasive materials affect the final look of the treated surfaces in high gloss.

During the practical part of presentation, our technicians demonstrated the proper way to remove irregularities from the treated surfaces, as well as the whole procedure of pre-polishing. Guide lines were defined to our guests, to show them how to speed up this process if varnished surface has occasional irregularity, using hand tools for pre-polishing.

After pre-polishing, presentation was continued by polishing process with Mirka tools, materials, special sponges and pastes. During the presentation, we discussed methods of polishing. Every participant had the opportunity to personally test all tools and materials and realize their superior quality.

As a conclusion of the practical part of the presentation we can emphasize the words of our technicians about aspects that ensure the achievement of outstanding results in working with high-gloss coatings, as well as significant time savings:

  • The proper selection and application of varnishes
  • The use of adequate equipment for varnishes application
  • Application of the optimum amount of coating per layer
  • Strict observance of the suggested drying time between layers of varnishes in the complete cycle
  • Using appropriate granulation of abrasives in the process of sanding and pre-polishing
